    Graphic Design Project: New Rockies Logo

    Speaking of the Rockies, I’m taking a graphic design course this semester. I needed to get some elective credits and figured this would be a pretty fun class.  Our first project was to either re-design the Colorado Rockies logo, or the University of Colorado logo. I decided to do the former and go for a replacement of the “CR” letter logo, going for a more classic look.  I’m anxious to hear what you think:

    Part of this project was to create an identity package, which includes hats, jerseys, a bus and a plane.  I’ve applied my logo to those as well:

    Wow! I didn’t know you were into graphic design. Awesome!

    I love the font you chose. I’m huge on typography. As a fellow graphic designer, I think you’ll appreciate this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3k5oY9AHHM . I found it hilarious. :)

    I think the mix of small caps and caps look good. They compliment the script type well. And the placement of the baseball is really intriguing. I love the design of the black and white jersey and the hat. Good logo placement.

    What if you did like a hairline stroke around your logo? A black stroke around the purple logo and/or a purple stroke around the black logo maybe. Might be interesting.

    Oh and I also really like the subtle purple gradient in the type. That would look really sweet in the black logo too.
