But I'm not sure how allowing me to go out to my car is a security risk. I understand they want to promote beer sales and don't want people escaping to their car to get trashed, then come back in. You can avoid that by simply enforcing that re-entry isn't permitted to those under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.

Also regarding the sporting arena: Football stadiums allow tailgating. The Broncos even embrace it by opening a lot specifically for tailgating, as well as rewarding the "Most Valuable Tailgater". College Football allows tailgating, albeit more restricted (at least in my experience with Colo State University). Tailgating should be in the sports arena's back yard (or parking lot in this case).

Keep in mind my dear Romey, this show is at a large sporting arena. They are used to controlling a beer slamming, soccer fans- not wild tripped out hipsters, that bring in other factors other than alcohol. It is the responsibility of the event promoters to take security into consideration. I'm sure we will all have a great time despite the tailgate issue. Also- how many times have you seen "prohibited items" in lot at shows. I think you will be fine!!
